Pediatric Chiropractic Care

At Center for Wellness, we offer gentle, developmentally-appropriate chiropractic care for children, from newborns through school-age. Our goal is simple: support comfortable movement, healthy development, and resilient bodies, while collaborating with your child’s pediatric care team when needed.

What pediatric chiropractic care focuses on

Kids grow fast. Their nervous system, joints, muscles, posture, coordination, and movement patterns are constantly changing. Pediatric chiropractic care at CFW focuses on:

  • Musculoskeletal comfort and function (how your child moves and uses their body)
  • Posture and movement habits (especially as kids start sitting more, carrying backpacks, and doing sports)
  • Age-appropriate mobility and soft-tissue support

Common Reasons Parents Bring Children for Chiropractic Care

Families bring children to Center for Wellness for many different reasons. Most visits focus on musculoskeletal comfort, movement patterns, and physical development as children grow. Because the body changes rapidly from infancy through adolescence, concerns often vary depending on a child’s stage of development.

Newborns & Infants

Parents sometimes bring newborns or young babies in for evaluation when they notice patterns such as:

  • Difficulty latching or staying latched during feeding
  • Preference for nursing on one side
  • Head turning preference or limited neck movement
  • Early signs of torticollis
  • Flat spots developing on the head (positional plagiocephaly)
  • Body tension or asymmetrical movement patterns
  • Difficulty settling comfortably in certain positions
  • Gassiness or apparent abdominal discomfort
  • After long or assisted births (vacuum, forceps, or cesarean delivery)

Care for newborns focuses on very gentle techniques, movement observation, and guidance for positioning and development.

Babies & Toddlers

As babies begin rolling, crawling, standing, and walking, parents may seek care for:

  • Neck or back tension
  • Movement asymmetries
  • Delayed or uneven motor patterns
  • Falls or minor bumps during early mobility
  • General musculoskeletal comfort as new skills develop

Children & Adolescents

Older children and teens are commonly seen for concerns related to growth, posture, and activity levels, including:

  • Posture-related tension, especially with increased screen time and school demands
  • Sports-related aches and strains
  • Growing bodies and changing movement patterns
  • Neck or back discomfort
  • Recurrent headaches

Working With Your Pediatrician

Chiropractic care for infants is not a replacement for pediatric medical care. Your baby should always continue regular visits with their pediatrician.

At Center for Wellness, we believe in collaborative care and are happy to coordinate with pediatricians, lactation consultants, physical therapists, and other providers when appropriate.
